The MIM “Debtors Chasing and Ethics Seminar”
The Malta Institute of Management held today a seminar entitled “Debtors Chasing and Ethics Seminar” at the Malta Financial Services Authority. This event brought together a number of experts to address crucial issues related to legal right and limitations, invoicing and possible solutions for repayment of outstanding amounts. The speakers conveyed their views and experiences and attendees, who put forward a number of interesting questions.
Dr Michael Tanti Dougall (Senior Partner, Tanti Dougall & Associates) discussed the possible ways and viability of pursuing debt collection and outlined that the late payment directive should serve as efficient and much less costly remedy other than court proceedings.
Mr Vincent Borg (Senior Manager, HSBC Bank Malta) highlighted the Benefits of Invoice Finance as it provides more working capital and resolves cash-flow concerns.
Dr Claudine Zarb (BCGL Advocates) pinpointed the legal rights and limitations and stressed that reliable information about a client should serve to better alleviate concerns and resolve problems.
The event was also accredited with 1.5 hours of Professional Development Competencies from the Malta Institute of Accountants.
