The MIM “Mediterranean Economic Forum” 2012
.
The Mediterranean is a border which divides and a bridge that unites 3 worlds - Europe, Asia, and Africa. Its sea has served as a central superhighway of transport, trade and cultural exchange and its history is a story of interaction of cultures and peoples surrounding the Mediterranean basin.
Today, the Mediterranean stands at the cross roads of various unfolding events that have dramatically changed the structure and character of the region. Recent events spearheaded by the ‘Arab Spring’ that spread across South and East Mediterranean countries combined with the economic crisis that has hit hard on Southern Europe, have forced political and economic analysts to revisit their view of the region. These continuous developments and changing scenario have had a dramatic impact on Malta offering some threats but also new opportunities.
In light of these happenings, on the 14th and 15th November , the Malta Institute of Management will hold the “MEDITERRANEAN ECONOMIC FORUM - UNLEASHING MALTA’S POTENTIAL” Conference 2012 at the Radisson Blu Resort, St Julian’s .
This event will address the key role Malta plays in the North and South divide of the Mediterranean and will discuss recent developments as seen through the eyes of various leading speakers from Southern Europe, the MENA region and Turkey. On the first day of the conference, as an acknowledgement to the various entities that have excelled in the Mediterranean Region, MIM Awards for Excellence will be awarded.
The event has been accredited with 9 CPE hours (Professional Development)
by the Malta Institute of Accountants
