Why Become a Member?
As a professional body, which is non-political, non-negotiating and non-profit-making, MIM offers persons in Malta, concerned with and involved in management, seven classes of membership, namely:
- Fellows
- Honorary Members
- Members
- Associate Members
- Affiliates
- Student Affiliate Members
- Corporate Members
These classes of membership allow the Institute to have a wide membership base proficient in management practice and having suitable academic qualifications.
All members have the right to attend and participate at any General Meeting, function or social event held by the Institute, and can use the Institute resource centre, receive any publications prepared by the Institute, and enjoy such other rights and privileges as are accorded to their respective class of membership by the Statute and Bye-laws.
Honorary Members, Student Affiliates and Affiliates, do not have any voting rights. A Membership Committee, is set up annually by Council during the first Council Meeting of each term of office.
It is the responsibility of this Committee to liaise with the appropriate officer in charge of members’ welfare and requirements. This Committee vets all applications for membership and recommends to Council suitable candidates for election as members within the different classes of membership of the Institute on the following guidelines.
Individual members can avail themselves of a number of benefits, namely:

There are many reasons why people choose to belong to a professional body. Some are associated with career development while others have a desire to contribute to the aims of the body as a whole. I believe that the Malta Institute of Management offers something across the board; it is an investment in the future of the Management profession, and in ourselves, through the Institute’s commitment to excellence and continuous development.
